Trip Dates
Depart Saturday 14th of August 2025 and return to NZ Friday 22nd of August 2025. Participants are free to stay on later at own arrangements or join the Vietnam R & R Add On Package.
Team Size:
Approximately 8-12. Volunteer Build will provide a host and local foremen to supervise the building project.
Airfares from Auckland to Cambodia
Best available fares from Auckland to Phnom Penh and from Siem Reap to Auckland start at around $1800 return on various airlines, plus allow from $160 to fly from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. The trip finishes in Cambodia on 22nd of August 2025 or option to join us for a week of R & R in Vietnam.
Accommodation
Share Twin in hotels. Single supplement applies if you require a single room.
Catering
Cost includes daily breakfast as well as morning tea and drinking water on building days.
Transport
Hire vans with local drivers, planes, tuk tuks, boat (river cruise).
Building Contribution
NZD $1,000 per person donation towards the cost of building materials (sourced locally). A tax receipt will be issued for this donation. NZ tax residents may qualify for a tax credit for this donation.
Vaccinations
You will need to consult your doctor, however common vaccinations required are Tetanus, Diphtheria, MMR, Hepatitis A & B, Japanese encephalitis, typhoid, flu vaccination. Remember it’s not just you who needs protection – it’s the Cambodian kids and families you interact with as well. You will also need to take anti-malarial medicine. All team members must be vaccinated to travel on this tour and provide confirmation to us prior to departure. More information will be provided in the full pre-trip briefing.
Visas
A passport and visa are required. Tourists may purchase a Cambodian e visa for approx. US$36 valid for 30 days. You will need an electronic passport-sized photograph.
Travel Insurance
Compulsory and must include coverage for manual labour (building) and medical evacuation and cancellation costs. Volunteer Build offers a policy through Covermore, and a personalized quote will be provided after signing up. Premium depends on age, cancellation coverage and any pre-existing conditions.
Trip Guardians
If you are under 18 years old, you will need to travel with a trip guardian who is 18 years or older. Signed parental consent documentation will be required to travel.
